Women Of Color Caucus (WOCC)

OUR MISSION

The Women of Color Caucus will encourage and support women of color in professional capacities and/or survivors of sexual and domestic violence in Virginia in order to vocalize, mobilize and promote civil human rights, heightened mental awareness and spiritual enlightenment.

OUR CHALLENGE

The primary challenge of the WOCC is to impact societal views and cultural stigma associated with women's sexual and domestic violence experiences.

Recondition society to collectively approach sexual and domestic violence in our culture. This is a call for cooperation, accountability and compassion.

The first step to effect positive change within our community is to foster a spirit cooperation. Cooperation requires us to work together for the common good.

The second step is to be willing to take collective responsibility for ourselves, our families, the community, and the future.

The third step is to treat each other with compassion and respect. We should assume an obligation to be concerned about the problems and welfare of each other.
